An invitation from Literary Death Match:
Celebrating the hippest hottest neighbourhood in London town, May 4th marks Literary Death Match’s first love-in with Land of Kings Festival in the stunning surrounds of Dalston’s Arcola Theatre. Presented by Fiction Uncovered and sponsored by Picador, it’s a perfect setting for electrifying the audience with word-play genius, laughter and wonderment.
We have an inimitable quadruplet of readers treading the literary boards, including critically acclaimed novelist Jon McGregor (author of the novels If Nobody Speaks of Remarkable Things and So Many Ways to Begin, and short story collection, This Isn’t the Sort of Thing That Happens to Someone Like You), hilarity & heartbreak performance poet Isley Lynn, (creator of Quilt Collective), master wordsmith Sam Mills (author of Blackout, A Nicer Way to Die and, most recently The Quiddity of Will Self) and all-round merriment maker & word wunderkind Nat Luurtsema (author of Cuckoo in the Nest).
Passing judgement on this fearless foursome will be our stellar judging line-up, including Literary High Priestess and first-lady of Book Club Boutique, Salena Godden, Bass Poet, Producer, DJ and incomparable King of Beats, Charlie Dark, and LDM London champion Stuart Evers (author of 10 Stories about Smoking and the forthcoming novel If This is Home).
