Entries to the new Costa Short Story Award now open

Entries opened this week for the new Costa Short Story Award, which is for a single, previously unpublished short story of up to 4,000 words by an author aged 18 years or over and written in English.  The closing date is 4pm on Friday 7th September, and all entries must be submitted via the Costa website.

The author’s primary residence must have been the UK or Ireland for the past three years. The winner will be announced at the Costa Book Awards ceremony on 29th January 2013.

What’s really exciting about this new award is that it’s open to everyone, published and unpublished writers, and all entries will be judged anonymously, with the overall winner being voted for by the public.
