Meet Fiction Uncovered judge Matt Thorne at Off The Shelf

The next Writers Guild – Off the Shelf is on Monday October 29, when Matt Thorne will be the resident writer for the day.  The event starts at 11 am with coffee and we hear readings from Matt Thorne at 11.30am.  Lunch is at 1pm – with after lunch readings from 2 – 4pm. Matt Thorne is the author of six novels, including Eight Minutes Idle, which won an Encore Award, and Cherry, which was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize for Fiction. He has also written three children’s books and co-edited two anthologies, All Hail the New Puritans and Croatian Nights. He recently co-wrote the screenplay for the adaptation of Eight Minutes Idle, and his critical study of Prince for Faber & Faber was published in October 2012. He is Head of Creative Writing at Brunel University.
