The Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize will take over the airwaves of award-winning London based radio station Resonance 104.4fm on Sunday 13 July. Hosted by Arifa Akbar, literary editor of The Independent and one of this year’s prize judges, Jerwood Fiction Uncovered FM will broadcast from 12 noon until 5pm this Sunday 13 July.
Listeners within Greater London can tune in on 104.4fm, and anyone can listen online at www.resonancefm.com or via the Radio Player app. The broadcast will also be available to download after the day at www.fictionuncovered.co.uk.
Jerwood Fiction Uncovered FM will feature talks and readings by each of this year’s winning writers; Ben Brooks, Bernardine Evaristo, Lesley Glaister, Cynan Jones, Gareth R Roberts, Naomi Wood, Gerard Woodward and Evie Wyld.
It will also include a mix of live panel discussions with publishers, retailers, agents and authors focusing on contemporary British writing and the publishing and retail industries that support it. Author Susanna Jones will talk about her recent month-long Jerwood Fiction Uncovered Prize Writing Residency at the Toji Cultural Centre in South Korea in Summer 2014.
The one-day special fiction event is part a sustained commitment to regular books programming across the Resonance104.4fm schedules.
