Introducing the Holland Park School Reading Group

We are thrilled to announce our next reading group: students from Holland Park School. Check the website, Twitter and Facebook feeds for their reviews, the first of which will be posted next week.

The Sixth Form and Senior Book Clubs at Holland Park School are comprised of students aged 15 to 18. We meet termly in the school’s Main Library where we engage in lively discussion where students are not afraid to voice strong opinions. The groups began as a chance for students to read beyond those books so often found on reading lists and on syllabi – a chance to find new favourites and new writers – and has grown from strength to strength over the past few years.

In the past the clubs have worked closely with the Man Booker Prize and various authors. When not reading from prize shortlists students make recommendations of books they’d like to read, with the group then voting on what we read next, as such we’ve read works by writers as diverse and Martin Amis and Penelope Lively to Ken Kesey and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
